My First DVD is Done
I am proud and excited to announce that my first professionally made DVD is now complete and for sale. The DVD is titled Fun With Qigong: Five Flows Set. I worked on it from June to December of 2008; first with preparation, writing, practicing the set and developing a script. Then came the filming, editing and putting the DVD cover package together.
We recorded it in my front yard, in front of the Japanese maple garden. Bob Ridgley of Binary Recording Studio both filmed and edited the DVD. Bob has been fun to work with as he is easygoing, explains things well, and is extremely competent with his craft. The marketing consultant and project manager Lisa Papp has also been a huge help in this complicated treading of a new path for me. Gary Stephens of RocketRom.com in Bellingham created the DVD cover and made the copies.
In the Fun With Qigong: Five Flows Set DVD, I teach a 12-exercise set of gentle healing movements. The exercises are designed to teach important principles about health and healing. Practicing this Qigong both shifts you in the present and gives you tools for a stronger, more vibrant future. Five Flows Qigong feels good and is fun to do.
Fun With Qigong: Five Flows Set is the first of five planned DVD’s in this series. I’m looking forward to getting on to the next one, probably beginning this spring.

Introduction to Robert
Robert Bates is a teacher and a healer. A 1990 graduate from Southern California College of Chiropractic, he came home to Northwest Washington state;to open his healing practice. He is a licensed Chiropractor, holds a Master of Medical Qigong degree, is an advanced Cranial Sacral Therapist, and a Life Coach for professional healers. He is a lifelong seeker of the best in self-transformation. Robert is dedicated to his personal Qigong practice, which includes Wild Goose Qigong, Healing Tao exercises, Tai Chi Chuan, and Five Animal Frolics.
Healing and Teaching
Robert offers individual healing sessions, private lessons and classes and workshops. Robert’s healing sessions are based on the belief that deep within everyone is the ability to learn, grow, and heal. The healing sessions are generally done on a soft and comfortable massage table, utilizing gentle touch, focus and healing energy to help access this deep healing wisdom. A healing session is more than a method for pain release and problem solving, it is an opportunity for attaining more self-awareness and personal growth. It is a path to greater wisdom. Robert also prescribes gentle exercises for each client so they can get healthier more quickly and have more personal, specific control over their health.
As a teacher he likes to encourage and inspire, give personalized feedback and simplify concepts to get to the essential information. He also likes workshops to be fun: We all learn better when we are relaxed and comfortable with each other. He teaches classes and workshops in the topics of Self-Healing Qigong, Qigong Therapy (Medical Qigong), and Empowered Touch Cranial Sacral Therapy.

Robert lives with his partner Kathy, their greet-dog Kiya, and 2 orange cats on 10 quiet acres in Whatcom County, Washington, just 10 minutes from Bellingham.
